The main connector is the bundle of wires that links your controller to the LCD, voltmeter, brake levers, PCB, horn, and light buttons. Proper care and installation are key to keeping your scooter running smoothly.

What the Main Connector Does

  • Red brake lever wires: 2 pins

  • Black LCD wires: 6 pins

  • Blue horn/light buttons wires: 5 pins

When ordering a new main connector, it comes as a bare bundle of wires. The 11 pins will not be pre-grouped, so you’ll need to set them up yourself.

Troubleshooting Tips

Even a new connector can run into problems if pins or wires are damaged:

  • Bent or missing pins – can make the LCD, brake levers, or controller appear faulty.

  • Thick wire pins – those connected to the brake levers or LCD can be damaged and affect functionality.

  • Pinched or damaged wires – any crushes or cuts along the main connector can cause issues.

If you’ve replaced the LCD, controller, or brake levers and the problem persists, check the main connector and wires first. Often, fixing the pins or removing a pinch solves the problem without replacing expensive parts.

 

Tools Needed

  • Allen key set (or multi-tool)

  • Pliers

  • Terminal removal kit

  • Wire cutters

  • Electrical tape

  • Hot glue gun

  • Zip ties

  • Gloves

Important: The battery must be unplugged during this repair. Sparks can occur if wires are live.

Step-by-Step Replacement

  1. Disconnect the Plug-and-Play Connections

    • Unplug the main connector, including Red & Black power cables, and the 6-pin, 4-pin, and 2-pin ports.

  2. Open the Scooter

    • Carefully access the inside of the deck to reach the connector.

  3. Remove the Old Main Connector

    • Cut the old main connector carefully from the top of the scooter.

  4. Attach the New Connector Pins

    • Tape the new connector pins along the old connector’s wires. Ensure the tape is tight and secure.

  5. Feed the New Connector Through

    • Pull the old connector from the bottom of the stem, and feed the new one through until it reaches the controller.

  6. Reconnect Pins

    • Insert the new pins into the 6-pin, 4-pin, and 2-pin ports.

  7. Reconnect Power Wires

    • Reconnect the Red and Black wires to restore power.

  8. Manage Wires

    • Organize the wires neatly inside the deck to prevent pinching or tangling.

  9. Close the Scooter

    • Reassemble the scooter carefully, making sure all connections are secure.
