Step 1: Cutting the Stem (Professional Only)
-
Using a pipe cutting tool, carefully cut the stem near the top.
-
Warning: This step permanently alters the stem and can compromise safety if done incorrectly.
Step 2: Installing the Adapter
-
Loosen the screws on the smaller hole of the adapter with an Allen wrench.
-
Slide the stem through the small hole at the top of the adapter (diameter: 28.5mm).
-
Tighten the screws securely with an Allen wrench.
-
Place a new handlebar into the larger side of the adapter (inner diameter: 31.8mm) and fasten it.
This adapter allows handlebars with a 31.8mm diameter to fit stems designed for smaller diameters, but due to the cutting involved, it should only be installed by experienced professionals. Improper installation may compromise the structural integrity of your scooter or bike.
