Troubleshooting: Why Your Electric Bike Won’t Accelerate

If your electric bike powers on—display lights up and lights turn on—but does not move, follow this step-by-step troubleshooting guide to identify and fix the issue.

1. Check the Kickstand

  • Problem: Kickstand is not in the correct position.

  • Solution:

    • Ensure the kickstand is fully in the upward position.

    • If it’s already up, move to the next step.

2. Inspect Brake Sensors

  • Problem: Brake sensors may be screwed in too far, preventing acceleration.

  • Solution:

    • Loosen the brake sensor slightly if it’s screwed in too tightly.

    • If brake sensors are correctly positioned, proceed to the next step.

3. Examine Throttle Wiring

  • Problem: Throttle wire may be pinched or disconnected.

  • Solution:

    1. Check for pinches:

      • If something is pinched, inspect if it can self-correct.

    2. Check for disconnections:

      • Reconnect any disconnected wires.

    3. No visible damage:

      • If wiring looks fine but the bike still does not accelerate, contact the technical department for further assistance.

Following these steps will resolve most issues related to your bike not accelerating. Always ensure the bike is powered off while checking connections and sensors to prevent accidental activation.
